To add on: bambino’s are also banned to be bred by Dutch authorities. On top of that, the issues with outcrossing & mixing unhealthy mutations stacks the more you research.

Purchase a regular sphynx if you have the choice, PLEASE. And please if you already have a designer breed, research into their health issues and do as much to help them.

April and everyone else at lil nudists seem like the best people in the world.... until you dig farther. They have great customer service and super friendly people, but its all a front. They make you feel comfortable and like you can trust them, all so they dont have to tell you about the dangers of the cats they sell. Bambinos, Sphynxbob, Bambobs, and all of these other designer cats are EXTREMELY dangerous to buy. Its basic facts, you can Google and check for yourself. They are double mutated cats, and their health risks are massive. You will not be informed of any risks, their goal is to just sell you a kitten. Theyre a chain cattery, and their only goal is to make money off of these cats. Otherwise, they would not be selling Bambobs who are known to get prolapsed *** and bambinos with joint and scoliosis issues. You are told that they have practically no issues and that youll be fine we have no issues with ours to death... You could get lucky and not have a cat with the issues, but they warn NO ONE about the risks or possibilities of them. The heads of TICA dont like these cats and theres MANY people who dont like them. This isnt a cattery, its a sphynx franchise. Heed the warnings of other reviewers with sick cats, and enter other places to find better breeders. A cute cat is not worth it its health issues and giving money to these breeders. be cautious, they care more about your money than the dangers of selling you a designer sphynx. I should also add that these breeds are NOT TICA certified. I was lied to and that they were by Lil Nudists, as well as they did not have joint issues and were breed to have bones that will not cause leg issues....

Lilnudists Cattery - Don't fall for it.
If April Arguin or Nikki Levin suggest that you paypal them directly to avoid fees, DON'T DO IT. Make sure it is marked for Goods and Services. That is definitely the first red flag about Lil Nudists Cattery that I should have caught, and sadly did not. I initially had been ready to adopt a pet from Lil Nudists Cattery. I contacted Nikki Levin from Baltimore. She told me the deposit was $100, but that I could pay more. I agreed to pay $350 toward the cost of a kitten. Nikki also suggested that I pay her directly as opposed to for a Goods/Services to avoid fees. This is what I should not have done, however, at the time I was fully committed. Unfortunately, my partner's pet fell ill with pneumonia due to a bad reaction to the Bordatella vaccine. She was required to stay in the emergency vet over the weekend, which amounted to almost 3k in in vet costs. At that time, I knew it would not be a good idea for me to sign on for another $1250 for a kitten, plus the costs associated with the kitten. I did the responsible thing, and contacted Nikki Levin to let her know. I did not hear any response over email for over a week (it somehow "got lost in emails"--second red flag, as who can't keep track of a buyers email?) When she finally did respond, she checked with April Arguin who suggested that I open a line of credit! Third red flag! Why on earth would anybody ever suggest opening a line of credit for a new pet when they were honest about their sudden financial emergency? Only people who are in it for the money and do not care about what kind of homes their kittens go to. I should also note that neither Nikki Levin nor April Arguin called either of my references that I put on my adoption application before I was approved. I should have not even gone through with the contract after that, a legit business would definitely check references of any potential owners!! There was a new home found for Eli in less than a week. I then contacted April Arguin about a partial refund of my deposit, as I had paid $350 and the deposit is only $100 (as listed on the website and told to me verbally by Nikki Levin). I did not even ask for the full amount back, as I know you forfeit your deposit in the event that you are unable to complete your adoption. I only asked for the extra amount that I spent back. April Arguin replied that it would be "a nightmare for us if we had people cancelling left and right". I also have to wonder about business taxes, if people are paying for kittens directly and it is not listed as a goods or service. But that will be up to the BBB and Paypal to decide as they will be contacted next.

This adopted wanted to cancel sale of the adoption of her cat 8 weeks after he had been reserved and she DID sign her name to the contract agreeing to adopt the kitten and that he deposit was non refundable and we can furnish proof of this to anyone interested. We do no longer accept payments as friends and family as we were trying to be nice and save people the PayPal fees, however our policy is to no longer.

Wow, solid response FOUR MONTHS LATER, April Arguin! I see that you didn't bother with the Better Business Bureau, either, but I guess you're too busy inbreeding cats in an attempt to cash in on a "designer" breed.

I don't know how 3 weeks turns into 8 weeks, but I guess anything can happen when the deposit turns from $100 to $350.

Refer to the screenshot of your own website!

Really, though, you spared me, as I've encountered several buyers with HCM positive cats that came from LilNudists and ended up spending thousands on their sick pets. But why focus on better health when you can focus on a "sphynxiebob", am I right?

Lilnudists Cattery - LilNudists is definitely a top notch cattery!
I wanted a Bambino Kitty for several years until my husband said he would buy me one for Mothers Day and off I went searching for the absolute best Cattery I could find to adopt my baby. I found Jayme and LilNudists, what a lucky day that was for me! I fell in love with Prince instantly and I have to say I was so impressed with Lil Nudists that in a few weeks I was searching for a playmate for him. Before long I was bringing Eloise home and they have been best friends ever since! LilNudists Catteries are top notch and you become a part of their family from the moment you bring them into your home. I did have an experience with 2 other Catteries before I found LilNudists and I will never go elsewhere now. The wealth of experience they brought to me in caring for my babies and feeding them is immeasurable. I know I'm going to be at risk of turning into a "cat lady" because I'm already thinking about adopting another kitten from LilNudists but nothing can compare to the happiness their kittens bring to those who are lucky enough to find them and adopt from their Catteries!

We have adopted two of the most precious kitties from LiLNudistsVA. Both of our kitties came to us healthy and happy. Jayme was always there with updates and answers. Never had a single problem with her or her associates. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who is looking for beautiful bald babies in the future. How anyone can say anything negative about their business is beyond me.

Thank you so much for taking your time to write such a wonderful rebuttal for us! It is so appreciated and so important for people to see that we have produced many many beautiful, healthy, wonderful kittens in the last 12 years and that a couple of angry people from no fault of our own should not be able to have the power to potentially take the joy of loving one of our babies away out of fear of our reputation. We love what we do and it is a huge sacrifice of time, money, and stress as in this case but we wouldn't change it for the world when we get to see the faces of our adopters light up with their happy beloved kittens!

I purchased my precious bald kitty, Minxy, from Jayme at the Northern Virginia location and could not be happier. She called all my references including my vet , which made me deel confident on the professionalism of her cattery. I brought her home Thanksgiving week 2016 and she was so well socialized that not a beat was missed in getty acclimated to our other pets and our household. Jayme and April are still very responsive to any questions I may have and offer tios on bathing, etc that habe been very useful. I feed and provide all the supplements they use and my gal is glowing. I will definetly purchase another Sphynx from Jayme.

Spooky as it is, that dog in that picture looks exactly like my service dog Trump, scary part about it is is that the blanket that they’re laying on on the couch is the SAME EXACT baby blanket I’ve had since I got him and the black and white flowers blanket, I have that blanket on my bed now. I sure hope you aren’t snooping around my house when I’m not home

My experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have had a few experiences with Lilnudists. In September 2015 I bought a Sphynx kitten from the Southwest location of Lilnudists. My kitten Valentino's litter had upper respiratory go through the cattery. He was 3 months old when I got him. Right before he was 6 months old he got FIP. I had to put him to sleep the day after Christmas. I am the person as soon as something is not right with my pets I immediately bring them to the vet. Even though Lilnudists doesn't warranty for FIP the breeder Becky said she would replace him. I was nervous but the new kitten would come from another mother & father. The replacement kitten I received on March 17 2016 & the breeder keeper saying she had no illness with this litter. Well the kitten supposedly went to the vet on March 16 th & got a clean bill of health. I got him on March 17th & when he was handed to me the breeder stated he had ringworm. I brought him to my vet the very next day & was told he had an ear infection. Well that's where it started. My Ziggy has had respiratory problems ever since. He has tested positive for Cornavirus. I live at the vet trying to keep him healthy. He was also given to me with an umbilical hernia & not fixed. The breeder told me she would take care of that when he was 6 months old. I ended up paying for the surgery. My kitten goes for regular B12 shots to build his immune system. This week I have been to the vet twice because he is sick. This sweet baby has never been well since the day he was handed to me. I have spent a lot of money on him. This breeder now is not part of Lilnudists. I want to also say Valentino was at the vet at least 5 times in his last 2 weeks of life & I saw him shrink down to nothing. FIP is a terrible disease. I also bought an bambino from the Virginia location. Jayme sold me a perfect sweet baby. Jayme has always been there for me with any questions. I would recommend her to anyone.

Hi there, thank you for taking your time to share your experiences with us. I am so very sorry about your tragedy of your lost boy and your Ziggy continuing to have health problems.

I am glad that you did not shy away from adopting from LiLNudists Cattery again and had such a great experience with Jayme and a wonderful healthy kitty.

As you stated yes Becky is no longer with our cattery, even so you know that we are always here for you and any help and assistance we can give with either of your babies we are here for you. The breed in general do suffer from low immunity and the right diet and environment are very crucial.

I would highly recommend LilNudists Cattery to anyone! From the moment I put in my application until present day has been great! They called all of my references, they called my vet and that alone says something. They care where these kittens are going. They sent me pictures and videos of my kitten up until he came home. I consider Kristin (Jacksonville location where I purchased him from) to now be a friend because she ALWAYS answers any of my questions anytime and my kitten has been home for several months now. He is a healthy, happy, extremely playful kitten and I plan on adopting another one soon. I agreed in my contract with them to feed them a certain diet, which I would've done anyway because I wouldn't want to change their food and upset what they grew up on. They are very up front with you in regards to what they expect of you as a buyer, you need to agree to certain terms on care for their kittens, and if you don't agree, than I would say that's on you. I couldn't be more happy with my experience!

LilNudists Breeding Mutated Sphynx

This breeder continues to breed several mutations into the Sphynx breed. These breeds are not Hypoallogenic like she claims and have not been studied long term. The mutated cats with short legs (also known as Bambino) have problems with arthritis and April is now mixing another mutations so these cats will be born without tails. She is doing nothing more than exploiting the beautiful Sphynx breed by making claims that are simply not true. The only reason these cats are being bred is because of the ridiculous profits. These cats are sold for $2,000 - 3,000. Do you really want to spend that on a cat you you will grow to love only to likely lose to a genetic condition? The Sphynx breed already has genetic heart issues and there is no reason to breed other mutations just to get the hairless trait. This breeder will continue to exploit the breed until pet owners stop buying them. Please do not purchase from any of the LilNudists Cattery until they stop breeding mutations and focus on the betterment of the breed.

I just wanted to take a moment to highlight some very important facts surrounding some recent negativity which has been circulating against us and our beloved cats on the account of one very angry hateful person who we will have the professionalism to NOT name and slander as she is doing to us. As a cattery we have always put the health of our cats and kittens as a number one priority and we spend considerable time and money every year to feed the best high quality food, provide the best veterinary care and health screenings like HCM for our cats which we post right to our website.

We are the most transparent cattery that I have seen and are very open and honest with all of our adopters, invite people into our homes and our lives.

I would like to remind everyone that there are several championship statuses approve bobtail breeds currently registered with the CFA and TICA; there is nothing unhealthy or wrong about a cat with a bobtail it is a naturally occurring trait and is seen among many wild cats breeds as well as domestic. These breeds include; American Bobtail, Japanese Bobtail, Kurilian Bobtail, Manx, and PixieBob. With the exception of the Manx, which is known to suffer health problems because of the breed being promoted to have as short of a tail as possible to no tail by breeding bobtail to bobtail putting the kittens at serious risk of life threatening complications of poor spinal fusion.

Yet this breed is FULLY accepted by the cat breed associations. We are NOT breeding into the Manx, we are NOT breeding bobtail to bobtail, we will only breed to American bobtail and domestic bobtails as these are some of the healthiest genetically sound cats on the planet! We will only breed bobtail to long tail even though this will mean that some of the kittens may produce tails longer than we desire we don’t care because we would NEVER sacrifice the health of our cats for a cute trait. Remember there are many other championship status fully accepted breeds of both dogs and cats where health is sacrificed every day for their cuteness including the sickening act of docking tails and ears which is SOMEHOW still legal in this country.

We simply wish that people would out their efforts elsewhere to help combat the REAL issues that are facing our pets today such as, animal hoarding, cat and puppy mills, ear & tail docking, animal abuse and neglect, animal disease including diet-related preventable disease, and animal over-population. It is just a shame to spend so much effort where it is totally misplaced. I also want to remind everyone that if there had not been breeders like us who were willing to be thick-skinned and stand through the backlash of negativity, we would not all have the pleasure of knowing the Sphynx or Bambino breeds as both breeds were highly criticized for many years and still are by some. We are good people, and ethical responsible breeders through and through and work tirelessly, selflessly sacrificing so much in life like evening dinners with friends, weekend trips or vacations, all to bring the love and joy of our beautiful healthy cats to our public.

Everyone who knows us personally and has adopted from LiLNudists Cattery knows our ethics are strong and our quality is the best God will afford us. Thank you to all of our friends for your continued support.

WOW.. I lost my lilnudists kitten to FIP.

The have to many in a small area. just as concerned about all the "coated"'kittens they're spitting out like puppy mills

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1184800

FIP is a horrible disease and we are continuously working hard to helping eradicate it from not only our cattery but from the world with all of the work we have done with UC Davis and the research field trials, and the hundreds of dollars raised for FIP research. We BREED the coated domestic shorthair cats into our lines to help STRENGTHEN the breed and reduce the incidence of HCM and FIP.

We have a lot of kittens regularly available yes, because we have 7 cattery locations in our network. Each location has fewer than 8 female cats and one or two males as that is our standard to uphold the cats best physical and emotional well being and produce happy, healthy well socialized quality kittens.

If you have any doubts just contact us today and schedule a visit we are never afraid to hide ANYTHING as we always put our cats before all else.

Lilnudists Cattery - Kitten completely emaciated before Patrick ever took her to the vet.
Lilnudists Cattery - Kitten completely emaciated before Patrick ever took her to the vet.
Iona left my house on the 16th of June happy and healthy. She was seen by the vet on the 8th of June to recieve a valid veterinarary health certificate to prove this. She was flown to Norfolk, VA with a flight attendant I know, in cabin with her. We contacted Patrick, (the new owner) a day or so after her arrival, and he said she did not want to eat. We informed him that this can be normal from the transition to the new home. Patrick did not take her to the vet at this time to make sure there was nothing else going on. We made sure he was feeding the same food I had had her on here. He advised us that he did and keep us informed. Not hearing from him, we contacted him 2-3 days later, he proceeded to report that everything was fine, she was eating, playing, and being a kitten. Throughout the next few weeks, we checked in on Iona periodically, and he still proceeded to tell us that everything was great. We then, received a text from Patrick, Thursday July 23rd, asking if it was normal that she was lethargic, not wanting to play, and just wanting to sleep and use the litter box. We said absolutely not. We asked for a recent picture of her and he sent a pic of her completely emaciated. We told him she needed to be seen by a vet immediately! He then took her to an ER vet. The clinic is called Blue Pearl Veterinary Specialist and 24 hour Emergency. (Report to follow). After talking more to Patrick, we found out he had changed her food from the start from a high quality raw food diet to the extremely low quality Whiskas and Friskies. In the initial discussion of her diet, we went over the type of food she was on and other high quality alternatives if he was not wanting to feed raw. He was informed these cats have to be on a high quality food and do not do well on anything else. Patrick claimed that the lethargy hadn't started until two days before and he also saw diarrhea at that time also. The pics I greatly feel and believe tell a completely different story. After seeing the pic he sent, I scrambled around to find arrangements to get her back into our hands. My business partner that lives near him, obtained her and that was when the severity of her situation hit us. She was completely skin and bones and almost non-responsive to anything. We knew it was not looking good for her. Once my partner arrived home, she snapped pics of her to document her condition. It was the only point the poor kitten kept her head up. We did offer her some food and she scarfed down what was presented to her. However, it went right through her and almost as fast as it went in, it came right out. She didn't even have the strength to make it to the litter box and urinated and defecated right where she was laying. She continued to decline rapidly and at 1am Friday night/Saturday morning, she passed away. The ER vet initially said it looked like FIP but the necropsy results prove other wise. The ER visit was THEE ONLY time she was every seen by a vet in his hands. This beyond a shadow of a doubt proves that this is a case of sheer veterinary medical neglect and complete ignorance.

Lilnudists cattery scam - Selling sick cats, refusing to honor contracts, trying to blame the buyers.

I am the owner of the sick cat (Mira) that was sent to us by Lilnudists cattery / April Arguin / Kristin Herstine. When the cat was sent to me, she was small, however she was a baby and was told she came with a clean bill of health from their vet. When she arrived, she would not eat the Raw food that April told me she was being fed the whole time, this cat would not touch it and would only eat canned food. She would eat 2 large cans of food a day. As time progressed, the cat started becoming lethergic and losing weight very quickly (we had her just over a month). I notified April as soon as I noticed something was wrong and took her to the veterinary hospital here in Virginia Beach, VA. The Vet at the ER who also used to own a Sphynx, came in and evaluated her. After looking at her, she removed a vial of yellow fluid from Mira's abdomen. The Vet said that this was THE telling sign that the cat had what is known as WET FIP, which is almost always fatal in cats and comes from households/catteries with more than 5 cats and is a mutation of the corona virus that many cats carry (I do not have any other pets). The vet wanted to send out the test. I immediately called April and informed her of the situation. April demanded that I do not send out the test, because the vet didn't known anything and wanted to speak to the vet directly. April told the vet that her cattery had an outbreak of Garadia not long ago and wanted the vet to giver her medicine for worms, and antibiotics. The vet did not think this was the case, however after April argued with the vet, the vet gave her what she wanted. The vet was only going to give the cat prednisone to make her more comfortable. April then demanded that I return the cat to them to be nursed back to health. I took time off work the next day to drive the cat to their breeder in Northern Virginia. After driving 5 hours to meet up with the other breeder Jayme DesDunes, the cat was rudely SNATCHED out of my hands as we were saying goodbye to her and Jayme sped off quickly. I returned home later that night, and received a text message at 4:00 am saying the cat had died, only hours after she was given the medicine by them that the vet didn't want her to take. I was told that she would then be sent out for Necropsy by their vet (which Kristin works for). A few days later the necropsy came back, saying that nothing was found. I only received a cut off screen shot (page 3 of 3) as proof, I also wanted a second opinion but they said that the corpse was no longer available. April then started texting me accusing me of neglecting her and that the reason she died was my fault. Mira was spoiled rotten and treated like a queen. When I received this text, I immediately when back to the Vet Hospital to speak with the doctor again. The doctor read the text and said that she sticks by her diagnosis of FIP and was appalled that these accusations were being made. The doctor told me that if they believed the cat was neglected that she would not have been returned to me. April then went on to say that the contract was void and that I would not be getting a replacement cat, or my money back and that lilnudists would no longer do business with me. I did not receive any paperwork on the cat until 2 weeks after we got her. None of the health guarantee information was included, when I did contact April about the health insurance, she sent me a code that was expired with no explanation as to why. A few weeks later, I received a facebook message from another member who also had the same issue happen with her cat that she received from April. It turns out that one of her cats was my kitten's sister. She ended up ok, but the other cat that she received from them started getting the same symptoms that Mira did and the cat ended up dying the exact same way. April then saying that the cat was neglected. This is a horrible scam this breeder is running, the customer service is poor and they are stealing peoples money by refusing to honor their contracts and selling sick cats. Do not believe anything that was written in April's posts. What I have written is factual, and I stand by it. STAY AWAY if you value the life of your pets. I hope that nobody else has to experience the heartache that we have gone through. Lilnudists has now removed their review section from their facebook page and taken down all posts in regards to these matters to try and hide the truth as more people who has been scammed have come forward.

The death of Mira has sadly been determined to be a case of neglect. The owner Patrick was delivered a beautiful healthy kitten who came fully vetted, spayed, neutered, microchipped, all vaccines, FIV/Felv negative, with a written contract and valid health guarantee.

We contacted the new owner soon after her arrival and was told she was not eating very well. We gave advice on how to prepare the food differently to begin to get her eating better. We contacted again about one week later and were told that she was doing great and was eating well. We were not contacted again until about 3 weeks later when Patrick asked if it was normal for the kitten to be lethargic and not playful.

He was asked to send us photos of her to assess her condition and we were shocked upon what we saw. Mira who was the image of health when she left our home was now an emaciated skeleton. We advised he immediately bring her to the emergency clinic that something very awful was wrong.

Once at the veterinary office he messaged saying the vet thought her condition to be caused by the viral infection FIP. I asked to speak with the vet as to try to convince her to at least try a bacterial/parasitic treatment as we had cases in the past when a kitten was assumed to have FIP and given a death sentence, for it to turn out to be a treatable GI infection.

The vet did speak with me and prescribed the medications to the owner. I did advice the owner that it was not necessary to send the liquid extracted off for texting as there is no test to prove FIP definitively it would still only be based on assumptions and either way there is no cure if it were FIP.

We then offered to repossess Mira in hopes of nurturing her back to health, to which the owner agreed. Nothing was promised in the form of a refund or a replacement kitten, just the offer to do everything we could to keep her alive.

My partner Jayme who lives near to the owner in Virginia offered to drive 2 hours that very next day to meet with Patrick to pick up the poor sick kitty. We also called and got the medications put on stat order and Jayme picked them up and paid for them at her own pharmacy. Jayme and her daughter were appalled at the condition of the kitten and took video and photographic documentation. Despite her best efforts, Mira passed away shortly there-after.

We then paid for a necropsy to be performed on Mira even though the contract clearly states this cost is associated to the owner. We felt very certain that neglect was to blame for her condition and her passing but wanted to know of any other possible causes. The results of the necropsy came back inconclusive; there was no identified cause of her death. After thoroughly reviewing all of the circumstance and her condition before the owner ever brought her in for medical examination it was determined by ourselves, as well as our personal veterinarians that this kitten was neglected.

Her condition likely began by a simple case of GI imbalance and upset from the stress of traveling to a new home which is very common in kittens. However the new owner only aggravated this by removing the kitten off the high quality diet she had been eating and feeding a very low quality canned diet of Friska’s as was reported by the emergency vet. GI upset of course can be easily corrected and treated, however the lack of care and medical treatment for her caused her condition to deteriorate too far gone.

The bottom line here is, we have a signed contract do not form the owner in which it does not state that will re-imburse money, nor replace a kitten unless they die of a congenital defect or the condition HCM; which this was proven to be neither.

Even if this kitten were to have passed away form FIP another condition not specifically guaranteed in our contract, we would have gone above and beyond and offered a replacement kitten if proper care and medical treatment had been given to this kitten. The condition of poor Mira before she was ever brought in for medical treatment is appalling and despite our 10 years breeding we have never once seen a kitten this emaciated and in poor condition. The fact that this owner wants a refund or replacement is ludicrous, we had full evidence and full right to in fact charge him with animal neglect, but choose not to as to alleviate stress.

We welcome anyone to contact us for further evidence to prove our case. LiLNudists@***.com

I adopted my kitty there, he is great, healthy, when I had questions, someone was available to answer, they don't suggest a high protein diet, high quality, it is part of the contract, you agree to feed this before you buy, that poor kitten, Lilnudists don't just sell sphynx, they approve you first, I have to wonder if the person just didn't believe the importance of this breed being on a high quality diet, live and learn, unfortunately the kitten who looks a lot like mine is not living, if you are going to adopt one of these cats, do what you are supposed to or don't buy one, they truly are different than other breeds, don't try to get off cheap when they tell you what the kittens needs are, t/y Lilnudists for a great kitten.
